Police: Man Left Children Alone In Car While He Visited LI Massage Parlor

A 28-year-old man was arrested after police watched as he allegedly left two small children in a vehicle while he went to a massage parlor.

Jonathan Lopez of Brentwood was arrested by members of the Nassau County Police Major Case Bureau-Narcotics Vice Squad around 5:20 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, in Hicksville, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, units were on an investigation at Verma Plaza, located at 94 South Broadway. During the course of the investigation, detectives watched Lopez, park his car and allegedly enter a massage parlor leaving two children, ages 3 and 9, in the car unattended with the doors unlocked, police said.

Detectives secured the children and the vehicle before entering the massage parlor to arrest Lopez, who was apprehended without incident.

The children were placed in the care of their mother, who is the defendant’s girlfriend.

Lopez was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. 

He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 23, at First District Court, in Hempstead.
